I've seen people ask "why do the pots in my home have to be plastic?", not because they find them too difficult to reuse (they're easy enough to get new), or because they feel that plastic makes it impossible to be durable (they're often hard to maintain), but because the plants in their pots are hard, they require longer soaking periods. And yes, I have seen this happen over and over. The reason I use glass pots is because I love our water welling system. When I was young, I used to buy plastic bags and bottles in bulk so I could put them up on my roof and do the occasional shower so my neighbors didn't have water. This became a hobby I could do with my life. I loved seeing the little plants, so when I decided to add some glass pot to my house, I thought it would be great! That is until I saw the kandnits that were sitting around my house, and asked how they were grown in those pots (some were so big that it was difficult to see through the plastic.) They took 3 months and didn't grow back to what I found in the pot before it was added to my new home.
