Mr. Green and the other partners of the programme say their work will also help support people with mental illness.
The programme has been launched on July 2 and will include a range of programmes, including special educational counselling and mental health services, as well in-country counselling or support groups by national agencies.
As well as providing counselling and support services, the organisation also plans to provide a range of vocational training at the school level.
One of the programmes is a "social work, community training and work with individuals with mental disorders", for which a trained professional and a teacher can set up the foundation project. The centre is funded by the National Health Service of Canada and is a partnership of the Canadian Institutes for Health Economics.
About the Toronto-based "Smart Toronto," the initiative is being led by CTV's Dr. Robert Johnson.
The program starts in June and aims primarily to provide services to students with disabilities and mental health conditions – some children whose families have been denied access to care in the province.
