The only problem with this is that it requires extra help to the tree from the plants around it, so you have to remove them (including the whole tree!) if you want to cut the split leaf. The split leaf is really bad. I've found it to be difficult to root, especially with the extra leaves we have, especially during the season when roots start to show off, especially if the flowers are all already there. This is something you should not have to worry about, especially after some garden time.
